- PDP Scribe disclaim Asadu, Says; I never sign any document
- The Police have summoned a serving two- term member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Patrick Asadu over an alleged case of forgery of the result of the primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to a copy of the warrant of arrest by the Police in Enugu, obtained by THISDAY, Asadu, who represents Nsukka/Igboeze South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, was alleged to have forged the PDP result sheet for the primaries conducted by the party to elect its candidates in December 2014.
By the warrant of arrest, Asadu is to appear and convince a judge of the Federal High Court that he was the rightful winner of the PDP primaries.
The action of the police was in response to a case made against Asadu by Dr. Ikechukwu Ugwuegede that he forged the House of Representatives primary election result and fraudulently altered it contrary to Section 436 and 444 and punishable under section 443(1),447(9), and 449( 6) of the laws of Enugu State 2004 as Amended.
According to documents made available to Journalists in Abuja on Saturday, two different primary election result sheets both bearing the same serial number, but returning different persons as the winner were shown.
While the alleged forged document has Patrick Asadu as the winner with a total of 88 votes, another election result sheet has Engr. Ikechukwu Ugwuegede as winner with 83 votes and both sheets bear the logo of the PDP and serial number 000324.
