The outgone deputy governor of Adamawa State, Hon. Sa'ad M.C Tahir, who represented the outgone governor Mr. Bala James Ngilari, at the handing over ceremony was attacked by an irate crowd at the event.
The crowd also manhandled a serving senator, Alhaji Bello Tukur, who was rescued by the security operatives out of the venue. They also damaged his car.
However, the outgoing deputy governor who was intermittently booed as he delivered the governor's speech, was accosted by the angry crowd that pelted him with satchet water and shoes.

He was rescued by security operatives who whisked him off the podium.

The angry crowd asked for Ngilari to stone him also, saying they were disenchanted with his administration.
The angry crowd sang in Hausa language, "Bama so,Karya ne, mash Gudu su Gudu, lokacinku ya kare.
Interpreted, it means: "It was all lies, we don't want you; shut up! Your time is up. PDP killed our nation."
It took the intervention of party chieftains to calm down the crowd as security operatives attached to the former deputy whisked him away.
