NMA withdraws services over kidnapped members

  The new Commissioner of Police, Ekiti state command, Mr. Etop John James , on Monday assured the people of the State that the spate of kidnappings would be tackled.
He added that he has the mandate  of  the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase to restore normalcy in the State .
  The new CP, who heads the special squad deployed  in the state by the IGP Tuesday followed a Save Our Soul by the governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose urging the IGP to urgently intervene in the increasing wave of criminality in the state.

James said the Command would partner with every legal group in the State to stem the crime rate in the State, saying  he has always believed in the powers of the people being a specialist  in community policing during his career that spanned over 30 years.
  Meanwhile, the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in the state, has suspended emergency services in hospitals across the state.
  The association said the move was to protest the kidnap of its members and continued receipt of threat letters by members of the association from suspected kidnappers who had abducted no fewer than nine members in the last three weeks.
  Those in the kidnappers' den are medical doctors, academics, nurse and their families are yet to make contacts with their captors.
