 Governor Godswill Akpabio

Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State has taken a swipe at the former Governor of Anambra State, Senator Chris Ngige, for his criticism of Akpabio projects and performance during the lawmakers visit to the state recently.

Ngige had at the flag-off of the Presidential rally of Major General Mohammadu Buhari (rtd) in Uyo a few weeks back, described the VIP reception hall at the Akwa Ibom International airport as a cubicle lacking proper chairs for visitors.

While questioning why such a place should be called “uncommon transformation” Ngige added, “When the whole senate visited here about 3 years ago on retreat, this governor who is here used his mouth after prayers and said Umana Okon Umana is the anointed candidate.
After praying to God can it change like that? Umana Okon Umana is going to Hill Top Mansion”.
But reacting to the comment by Ngige, Governor Akpabio said at the PDP governorship flag-off in the state at the weekend that the VIP reception hall was an interim arrangement and wondered why he was not shown the permanent site.

“When he came in through our airport, he described the VIP lodge as kitchen. But nobody told him that it was just an interim terminal building that is marked for demolition.

“We are constructing a brand new international terminal. Nobody told him. He came to question our uncommon transformation.“
