An explosion which occurred at the Kantin Kwari textile market along Ibrahim Taiwo road in Kano State has claimed 6 lives, reports say.

The state police commissioner, Adenrele Shinaba confirmed to AFP that the attackers were indeed females clothed in the Muslim attire.
"They came by the market and asked to be directed to a public convenience. The bombs detonated, killing them and four others,” Shinaba said.
The secretary of the market traders' association, Abdullahi Abubakar also
told AFP that the first bomber blew herself up near the toilets at
about 2:30pm while the second bomb went off shortly after near another
group of toilets.
Abubakar added that the girls
were in their late teens and had been accompanied to the market by a man
who disappeared when the deadly deed was done.
The
area where the attack occurred has since been cordoned off and the
injured have been taken to a hospital to receive treatment.
